Working with David Lawlor of BrandNew Creative and Amos Unkovich of Ebony and Co, Fusio have developed the new site www.ebonyandco.com. The site features stunning imagery, parallax scrolling, responsive design, a bespoke content management system and a gallery of Ebony and Co’s products. Each page of the site is packed with features that are subtle yet an intricate part of the overall design.
A visual technique that juxtaposes two images, with a background image that moves slower than the foreground image to create a 3D effect. Ebony and Co features a wide range of eye catching photography so we feel parallax scrolling is the perfect way to showcase the company and their ethos, whilst providing a touch of style to their website.
The landscape of the internet is changing. At the time of writing roughly 17% of the world is using a mobile device to access the internet. We must therefore consider this sizeable proportion of the market viewing their sites on phones, tablets and any other conceivable device other than a typical desktop computer. Responsive web design is an approach of designing sites that adapt to make full use of the screen the user is viewing a web site on. Whether it is a normal computer, a laptop, tablet, phone or anything else, a responsive site will automatically scale its layout so that the optimal viewing experience is delivered.
As any iPhone or Android phone user will have experienced, there are still many sites out there that provide no responsive or mobile version to their visitors. The result is a lot of pinching, tapping and zooming to make a web site designed for a large monitor legible on a device a fraction of the size. Responsive design eliminates any need for this, scaling down elegantly to present the web site at the correct size and zoom level. In the case of Ebony and Co’s website, we retained as many of the visual features as possible at mobile resolution to provide the most visually appealing experience as possible to all devices.
Ebony and Co’s full line of hardwoods can be browsed on their site, and we made it our priority to provide the most smooth and appealing experience to the customer. Each wood can be examined in finer detail through an overlay showing its details. You can even view a PDF file of the full the product specification or share it on social media, a feature which is also present throughout the rest of the site.
The Ebony and Co web site is now live at www.ebonyandco.com.
